please do... The hall is big enough, even for the Shack.
Bring Mike Hadland too, I forgot to mention him, he was also missing...

Chris Strachan flew this Piper Cub in Kit Scale. Some very good flights on CO2 power, tied in first place with Richard Crossley in static score, finished in 7th place overall.

The F4D / F4E static judges, Steven Bolt and Han van Leeuwen, almost at the end of a tiring judging marathon. My Vendome being judged at the time in F4D. The table looks empty now, but was full with models at the beginning of the competition.

Models by Robert Pajas of the Czech Republic:

Fokker Universal, 6th in F4D

His Saro Cloud, a model everybody wanted to see in the air. The rather low temperature in the hall led to freezing problems with the CO2 tank, so it did not manage an official flight. Peter Smart's advice could be heard all over the hall: "Robert, go electric". But he will stay with CO2 for this one.

His Fokker F. IX, had some difficulty in flying properly, finished 14th in F4D

The Russians are coming !
Actually, they came. This was the first time they entered in either IIFI or Interscale. They had some problems with their scale models, but did quite well in F1N.
Hopefully they received enough inspiration to come again next time. Their models were simply not trimmed enough, close to success, but not quite.
Here is the Hollander Libelle by Alexander Aksutin, the only junior entrant in the open classes. His final flight attempt seemed like he would make it, but came down too early. He did not qualify but did earn a warm applause of encouragment by everybody.

The Russian "team" table.
I could have used a table of that size myself

Spent quite a lot of time arranging models and stuff. But that was mainly because I was unorganised...

Great photos, Andrea. LOVE those arty trophies by Larissa Bruin. There is real style to these Nijmegen contests!
George, great photos and info too; thanks very much, and really looking forward to the rest! I for one hope that Robert Pajas sticks with CO2 power as, for me anyway, it is part of what makes his marvellous models so bewitching.
(Tim, we're really going to have to get back over there soon!)

One thing that really impressed me, was Alexander Aksutin's enthusiasm - that and the support he had from the rest of the Russian contingent! In spite of the issues he had his smile was infectious!

Spitfire MK.XIX by Lars Tolkstam, first place in profile scale. 2 entries only, but its' flights were high anyway and it looks the part.

Pit's Rivets peanut. I am sorry to say but I failed to see it in flight, too busy with my own model.

Pit's table again, Hangar Rat and Phantom Flash came by for the ride, just in case his other models wouldn't fly. How wrong he was...

Also his other peanut entry, the Mew Gull.

Next to Pit was Wout Moerman's table and here is his Koolhoven FK 46 which came 2nd in static and had good enough flight score to finish 2nd overall.
